Jerusalem’s police have arrested several Arab terrorists in connection with the recent wave of anti-Israeli violence in the capital.

Jerusalem’s police arrested 22 Arab terrorists on Monday and Tuesday night in a broad sweep that is intended to curb the wave of violence plaguing the city.

Three Arabs were arrested for pelting rocks at Jerusalem’s light rail train, which has become a favorite target for terrorists.

Four teens were arrested for throwing Molotov cocktails at the security forces in east Jerusalem.

Six Arab teenagers were arrested for throwing fire bombs at Israeli homes in the A-Tur neighborhood. During questioning, they admitted to throwing the bombs on several occasions over the past two weeks. They stated that their motivation was hatred of Jews. Welfare officials were brought into the picture because of the young age of the offenders.

Four teenagers were arrested for the violent attack on a gas station in the capital last Monday, during which they attempted to ignite the station and blow up the gas reserves.

A police spokesman stated that the police will continue to respond firmly against the terrorists and anyone who disturbs the peace in Jerusalem.

Wave of Terror in the Capital

Jerusalem has been the scene of several violent attacks over the past months, including a terror attack in which an Arab drove his tractor into a bus, killing one Israeli.

Data presented by the Shabak (Israeli Security Agency) shows that 83 terror attacks were carried out by Arab terrorists in Jerusalem during July, as opposed to 11 in May and June.

The Train Authority has recorded 95 attacks on the line, executed mostly at night, sometimes three attacks an hour. The damage caused to the train cars is estimated at a half a million shekels to date.
