Moroccan Cleric Says No to Boycotts against Jews

Brother Rachid

Brother Rachid, a former Muslim and currently a Christian preacher, says no to boycotts against Jews – in Arabic.

Brother Rachid, a Christian cleric and well-known voice in the Arab world, publicized a meticulously structured televised oration against boycotting Jews – in Arabic. Speaking on the Al-Hia (the Life) Christian channel, Brother Rachid displays strong rhetorical talents and an intimate knowledge of history while expressing support for the Jewish State and criticizing those who call for its boycott.

Brother Rachid refers specifically to the words of Dr. Zafwat Al-Hijazi, an Egyptian preacher and supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood, who called for a boycott of Starbucks because it is a “Jewish” chain.

Indeed, this demand for a boycott against Jews seems to demonstrate that there is no difference between anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism, which has risen dramatically in recent months.

Brother Rachid examines the facts related to the attempted boycott of Jews and Jewish products, sending a clear message in Arabic that such a move is effectively impossible. Naming various products used on a daily basis, he points out that they, too, would be included in such a boycott, since they were invented by the sons of “apes and swine” – the term for Jews used by Muslim clerics urging the boycott.

From Muslim to Christian Preacher

Brother Rachid has a most intriguing life story. Born in Morocco to a conservative Muslim family, he converted to Christianity at the age of 19. He has since been involved in Christian preaching, together with other former Muslims, and has a weekly televised broadcast – Suaal Jaria (The Daring Question), shown every Thursday since 2007. Al-Hia is banned in some Muslim countries. Furthermore, a price of millions of dollars has been placed on the heads of the channel’s directors and talents. Brother Rachid has previously visited Israel.
