Netanyahu Warns Iran of ‘Unimaginable’ Blow in Rosh Hashanah Message

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a stark warning to Iran on Sunday, declaring that its regime is nearing its end and threatening a devastating Israeli response if Tehran resumes attacks on the Jewish state.

Speaking at a Rosh Hashanah toast during a government meeting, Netanyahu pointed to Israel’s recent military achievements against Iran and its regional proxies, saying the country enters the Jewish New Year stronger than its enemies.

“Thanks to the wise and courageous decisions we made together around this table, thanks to the heroism of our fighters, thanks to the resilience of our people, we have achieved tremendous accomplishments,” Netanyahu said.

“Israel is stronger than ever; our enemies are weaker than ever.”

Netanyahu credited cooperation with the United States with significantly reducing the threat posed by Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs.

“Together with the United States, we have achieved tremendous successes in removing an existential threat hanging over our heads,” he said. “We have pushed away atomic bombs and ballistic missiles, and we have struck the Iranian axis with immense power.”

The prime minister said Iran is currently refraining from attacking Israel because it understands the consequences, but warned Tehran against miscalculating.

“Iran is refraining from doing so, and it knows why,” Netanyahu said. “Of course, it could err and make the mistake of attacking us anyway. It will suffer a blow it cannot even imagine.”

“I say to our enemies: Do not try us,” he added.

Netanyahu also praised IDF troops and members of Israel’s security services, saying Israeli forces continue to target terrorists “around the clock” in Lebanon, Gaza, and Judea and Samaria.

But he stressed that Israel’s campaign is not finished, identifying the collapse of the Iranian regime as a key remaining objective.

“The achievements are immense, but there is still more to complete,” Netanyahu said. “I mean, first and foremost, the toppling of the regime.”

“This regime in Iran, its end is near,” he continued. “It is weak, it is fighting for its life, it is faltering.”

Netanyahu then alluded to an additional mission without specifying what it was, saying its completion would have historic consequences for Israel and the region.

“There is another mission to complete, which we are determined to bring about,” he said. “This will permanently change the face of the Middle East and the history of our people.”

Concluding with a traditional Rosh Hashanah blessing, Netanyahu said, “May the year and its curses end, and may a year with its blessings begin, blessings greater than we have ever had. A happy New Year to the people of Israel.”
