It’s no surprise that Rashida Tlaib is devastated by the historic peace agreement, which, Netanyahu says, “will transform the region and forge an even better future for our people.”

US Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich) slammed the historic peace agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Israel announced Thursday at the White House.

“Huge breakthrough today,” US President Donald Trump tweeted. “Historic Peace Agreement between our two GREAT friends, Israel and the United Arab Emirates!”

Israel and several Gulf states have been enjoying clandestine cooperation for a number of years, largely due to a common enemy – the Islamic Republic of Iran, which threatens the region.

“Now that the ice has been broken I expect more Arab and Muslim countries will follow the United Arab Emirate,.” Trump said in a statement.

“Opening direct ties between two of the Middle East’s most dynamic societies and advanced economics will transform the region by spurring economic growth, enhancing technological innovation and forging closer people-to-people relations,” he said.

Biden Praises Accord

Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden also praised the UAE-Israel accord, calling it “a historic step to bridge the deep divides of the Middle East.”

The agreement is “a welcome, brave, and badly-needed act of statesmanship” and a “critical recognition that Israel is a vibrant, integral part of the Middle East that is here to stay,” he added. “I am gratified by today’s announcement.”

As could be expected, however, Tlaib, who supports the anti-Israel BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement and continues to spread lies about the Jewish State, is unhappy with the progress.

This should come as no surprise. Tlaib, together with Rep. Ilhan Omar, earned spot number five in the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s annual list of the “Top Ten Worst Anti-Semitic and Anti-Israel Incidents” in 2019 for their “slander of Israel and Jews.”

“We won’t be fooled by another Trump/Netanyahu deal. We won’t celebrate Netanyahu for not stealing land he already controls in exchange for a sweetheart business deal,” Tlaib tweeted Thursday evening, adding a comment about Israel’s alleged “ongoing, devastating apartheid.”

A Promising Future

Of course, there is no apartheid in Israel, as citizens of all ethnic and religious backgrounds enjoy equal rights and opportunity. And Israel will continue to achieve great diplomatic success, despite the likes of Tlaib.

“This is the greatest advancement toward peace between Israel and the Arab world in the last 26 years and it marks the third formal peace between Israel and an Arab nation,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, referring to the 1979 peace agreement with Egypt and the treaty signed with Jordan in 1994.

“Together, we will transform the region and forge an even better future for our people. This is a future of peace, a future of security and a future of prosperity,” Netanyahu declared.
