An Iranian terror plot in Denmark is actually a Zionist scheme to harm Tehran’s relations with Europe. Got it?

Iran’s intelligence minister claimed that an Iranian terror plot to kill an opposition activist in Denmark was an Israeli conspiracy that sought to harm Tehran’s relation with the European Union.

The minister, Mahmoud Alavi, told state TV on Monday that the “Zionist regime” was behind the plot. He did not elaborate.

Denmark announced last week that a police operation there in September stemmed from an Iranian plot to kill an opposition activist. It said a suspect in the case, a Norwegian citizen of Iranian descent, has denied wrongdoing.

The operation was linked to a separatist Iranian Arab group that Tehran has blamed for a September attack on a military parade in the city of Ahvaz during which at least 25 people were killed.

A probe by the Danish security service, known by its acronym PET, produced other evidence of illegal activity taking place in Denmark involving Iran and the opposition.

Denmark’s Prime Minister Lars Loekke Rasmussen and Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen on Tuesday both called an alleged Iranian attack in Denmark “totally unacceptable.”

The country will respond and speak with European partners about “further steps,” they said in separate statements.

Danish Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen stated that the country is “dealing with an Iranian intelligence agency planning an attack on Danish soil. Obviously, we can’t and won’t accept that.”

At the Craiova Forum in Varna over the weekend, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that Israel had recently prevented dozens of terror attacks on European soil, including Iran’s plot in Denmark.

Netanyahu told Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă that Israel defends Europe by preventing dozens of attacks on its soil, including Israel’s recent assistance in thwarting Iranian terror attacks in France and in Denmark.

A senior Israeli official said earlier in the week that the Mossad provided the Danes with key information that helped them head off the Iranian plot.
