Israel has purchased and is now deploying drones along its northern border to assist in monitoring and addressing various threats from Syria, where a civil war has been raging for more than five years.

Russian efforts to reach a truce between Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime and various rebel groups in Syria appear to be progressing, so Israel is preparing for the day after, when it is safe to expect that Jihadists will turn their attention to the “Zionist enemy.”

While Israel stays out of the war in Syria, it keeps a wary eye on its border and retaliates when hit by fire, whether intentional or errant.
