The number of British Jews who immigrated to Israel in 2015 went up almost 25 percent from the previous year, according to data recently released by The Jewish Agency for Israel.

The latest count shows that a total of 774 British Jews made aliyah last year, as compared with 629 in 2014. The 2015 figures reflect the largest annual immigration to the Jewish state in over a decade, with more than 30,000 new immigrants in total, and one of the highest number from the UK during the last 10 years.

Rael Goodman, head of the Jewish Agency in the UK, said that the 2015 statistics represent “once again a true vote of confidence in Israel – a thriving economy, a country full of opportunities, offering an exciting and meaningful future in the heart of the Jewish world.”

A large number of immigrants to Israel last year hailed from France, Russia and Ukraine, The Jewish Chronicle reported. Aliyah from France was the highest for any country in 2015, with 7,900 French Jews making the move — slightly above the 2014 figure of 7,200.

Aliyah from the UK has averaged around 500 annually since the year 2000, but has been increasing since the early part of the last decade, The Jewish Chroniclereported.
