The Palestinians “will have only themselves to blame” if they refuse to return to the negotiating table while the sovereignty talks are ongoing, Kushner said.

Despite the political instability in Israel after three elections in one year that have still not determined who will lead the next government, the Trump administration is moving forward with the implementation of the US peace plan, Channel 13 News reported Thursday, according to Arutz-7.

In a closed briefing to American senators representing both Republicans and Democrats on Wednesday, Jared Kushner, Trump’s senior adviser, said discussions concerning the details regarding which areas will be included under Israeli sovereignty will continue for several months, Arutz-7 reported.

The Palestinians “will have only themselves to blame” if they refuse, in the meantime, the opportunity to return to the negotiating table to discuss any changes in the mapping while the sovereignty talks are ongoing, Kushner said.

Already last month, the joint U.S.-Israel committee tasked with mapping the areas to which Israel will extend its sovereignty in Judea and Samaria under the Trump peace plan has started the process, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at a weekly Israeli cabinet meeting.

“In recent weeks, we brought enormous news for the State of Israel and the Land of Israel. My friend, President Trump clearly stated that he would recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Jordan Valley, the northern Dead Sea, and all Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, as well as a broad area encompassing them,” Netanyahu said.

“We have formed an Israeli team to work with the American team on the work of mapping, which has already begun – it is underway,” the prime minister added.

U.S. and Israeli sources said immediately after the release of the plan’s details last month that the map, which they refer to as a conceptual map, did not reflect the exact future borders.
