Although Israel and Qatar have no diplomatic ties, Israelis have been allowed to enter the Muslim nation for the 2022 World Cup event, with many hoping this was a sign of future normalization.

However, Israeli journalists and fans attending the FIFA event have been endlessly harassed and faced some of the vilest antisemitism making it clear that peace between the two countries would not be welcome in Qatar.
