In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the State of Israel, 15 choirs from around the world sang a moving rendition of an ancient Jewish prayer for peace.
As a “gift to Israel” in honor of Yom Ha’atzmaut – Independence Day – 15 choirs from different countries sang a beautiful rendition of “Oseh Shalom” – a well-known, ancient Jewish prayer expressing the Jewish People’s longing for peace.
“Oseh Shalom” means “He who makes peace” and is part of the concluding sentence in much of Jewish liturgy. The full sentence is, “He who makes peace in His heights, may He make peace upon us and upon all Israel; and say, Amen.”
