Did you know that the grandmother of iconic reggae artist Bob Marley was Jewish?
Decades ago in Jamaica, Ellen Ann Broomfield, a Jewish girl of Syrian descent, married Albert Thomas Marley and gave birth to Norval Marley, who became a marine officer and plantation overseer.
At the age of 60, Norval married Cedella Editha Booker. Their child, Robert Nesta Marley, became a famous reggae artist known as Bob Marley.
It is estimated that thousands of Jamaicans have Jewish roots.
