The Druze community in Israel is planting trees to commemorate its fallen soldiers.
Druze spiritual leader Sheikh Mowafaq Tarif said, ‘This is a very emotional event. Planting trees represents life. We are paying respect to our soldiers.’
The Druze population is split between several Middle Eastern countries, including Israel, where they number 150,000.
