Instead of seeking punishment for a man who tore her mezuzah down, this university student worked to chip away at his hate.
Maddy Gun, who is the granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor, couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw that someone had removed from her door a mezuzah, a small piece of parchment enclosed in a case that is affixed to the doorposts of Jewish homes in accordance with ritual law.
The mezuzah was “ripped from the doorpost of her dorm room in an anti-Semitic incident,” StandwithUs reported.
When law enforcement caught the perpetrator, however, this brave young woman sought a solution far more powerful than merely seeking punishment. Check out her inspiring story!
