The call of the Holy Land was too strong to resist for this New York-born shepherd, who left it all behind to tread the pathways of his biblical ancestors.

Avraham Herzlich’s life before becoming a shepherd in Israel included a good job in the hi-tech industry, race cars, and other trappings of upper-middle class life.

But the 79-year-old shepherd said goodbye to all that to follow in the footsteps of biblical heroes such as King David, who tended to flocks in the Holy Land.

As Herzlich explains, the shepherd’s life has brought him peace, clarity, and a stronger connection with his higher purpose.
