WATCH: Independence Day BBQ in the Biblical City of Hebron!

Hebron Yom Ha'Atzmaut

One of the liveliest Israeli Independence Day celebrations this year took place in Judea, in the ancient Jewish city of Hebron.

Hebron, the second-holiest city to Jews, second only to Jerusalem, is where King David reigned before moving the Jewish capital to Jerusalem. It is where Abraham bought the Cave of the Patriarchs and Matriarchs, where all except for Rachel are buried.

Hebron was liberated by the IDF in the 1967 Six Day War. Today, 1,000 Jews reside there, including 90 families and 240 yeshiva students.

Watch these Israeli families and IDF soldiers enjoying a traditional Yom Ha’atzmaut barbecue in Hebron and feel the joy of the Jewish return to the biblical city of our forefathers.
