Israeli zookeepers at the Ramat Gan Safari nursed a baby mandrill back to life.
Israeli zookeepers at the Zoological Center Tel Aviv – Ramat Gan Safari, near Tel Aviv, nursed a weak newborn mandrill back to life.
After two hours of resuscitation and intensive care, the monkey with a furry head crest was reunited with Tinkerbell, his mother.
“Within seconds of seeing her infant in the hands of the veterinarians, mama mandrill snatched him back and quickly snuggled him close to her belly,” Israel 21c reported.
Within 24 hours, veterinarians on site saw Tinkerbell nursing her baby.
The mandrill species is classified as vulnerable in the wild.
