On Tisha B’Av, the day of mourning commemorating the destruction of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, Jews in Rome sang underneath Rome’s arch of Titus.

Titus was the emperor who oversaw the temple’s destruction, and the arch depicts scenes from the historical event.

Jews gathered and sang underneath the arch to celebrate Jewish survival 2,000 years ago and today.
