In a significant humanitarian operation, 231 ill Palestinians and their caregivers were transported to Israel before boarding flights bound for the United Arab Emirates and Romania for essential medical treatment on Wednesday.

The patients were brought in a convoy of ambulances to Ramon Airport, situated near Eilat, where they embarked on flights to receive care abroad.

“This is the highest number of patients and caregivers to pass through the Kerem Shalom crossing in recent months,” stated Israel’s Coordinator for Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT).
