The Israeli prime minister quoted the words of the prophet Isaiah when praising Biden for his support of the Jewish state.
This past Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett met with US President Biden to discuss a range of issues, including the Iran nuclear threat.
In his public remarks in the Oval Office during the summit, Bennett quoted Isaiah 60:40, which reads, “Lift up your eyes and look about you: All assemble and come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the hip.”
Having first read the words in the original Hebrew, the prime minister explained: “What this means is: The sons and daughters of the Jewish people are going to come back to our land, are going to nurse our ancient land and rebuild it.”
“And this ancient Jewish prophecy is today’s Israel reality. And it’s a miracle that you’ve been so central and so part of it for so many years,” Bennett said.
