Operation Solomon was a secret Israeli military operation that rescued thousands of Jews from Ethiopia and flew them to Israel in May of 1991.

In 1991, the Ethiopian government was in turmoil and the situation was becoming increasingly dangerous for the local Jewish population.

With the encouragement of then president George H.W. Bush, the government of Israel devised a secret operation, working around the clock to bring 14,325 Ethiopian Jews to Israel in only 36 hours.

These immigrants arrived in Israel with nothing but the clothes on their backs but hearts filled with joy!
