As the Olympic Games in Paris draw to a close, a poignant ceremony took place to honor the 11 Israeli athletes who were tragically murdered during the 1972 Munich Olympics.

Israeli athletes and officials, alongside Parisian dignitaries and the International Olympic Committee, gathered at the Israeli embassy to pay tribute.

The attack by the Palestinian group Black September resulted in the deaths of two athletes during the initial assault and nine more during a failed rescue attempt.
