“We want justice” and “Ww are one” were among the chants at a rally in support of African Americans organized by the Brooklyn Jewish community.
New York Jews showed solidarity with their African-American neighbors at a rally on Sunday in Midwood, Brooklyn, in the aftermath of the murder of George Floyd.
The march was led by former New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind, founder of Americans Against Anti-Semitism, and Rev. Kevin McCall, a Brooklyn preacher and spokesperson for Floyd’s brother.
The speakers stressed that they are “not against the police, we’re just against bad policing…the bad apples.”
HIGHLIGHTS: Despite all the naysayers I’m proud that @IamRevKev joined me, Rabbi David Goldwasser, Sanford Rubenstein and members of the local Jewish community to stand together for justice in the memory of #GeorgeFloyd
I thank the @NYPD66Pct for protecting the procession.
