Sirhan Yousef, the head of Fatah’s foreign relations in Lebanon, said that Arafat’s signing of the accords was just a trap.

Nearly 29 years ago, the Oslo Accords was signed between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization.

The agreement was met with much enthusiasm both in Israel and around the world, and was depicted as a historic breakthrough on the path to Arab-Israeli peace. The agreement earned its signatories a Nobel Peace Prize.

However, it ultimately imploded, leaving Israel to pick up the pieces.

Sirhan Yousef, the head of Fatah’s foreign relations in Lebanon, admitted this and said that Arafat’s signing of the accords was just a trap to “bring the fight back” into Israel.
