“It’s perfectly sensible to go to elections now, with complete unanimity and a great partnership for Israel,” the prime minister said.

Six weeks ago, when there was talk of early elections, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the time was not right but that he could not reveal why.

When the IDF exposed and destroyed a Hezbollah terror tunnel – the first of several – it was understood why. It was an urgent security matter.

On Monday, the cabinet unanimously decided to hold elections in early April.

“It’s perfectly sensible to go to elections now…with complete unanimity and a great partnership for Israel,” the prime minister said.
