A Tel Aviv University researcher discovered the first organism of its kind that does not need to breathe.

Dr. Dorothée Huchon recently made a startling discovery, finding for the first time in history an organism that can survive without oxygen.

The Tel Aviv University researcher explained that she found the organism “by chance,” adding that this sea-dwelling parasite can be found in worms and fish.
