After surviving a shooting attack that robbed him of his family and his right leg, Asael Shabo resolved to honor his loved ones by living life to the fullest.

In a small community in Samaria, Asael Shabo endured the unthinkable, surviving an attack launched by an Arab terrorist who broke into his home and shot to death his mother and three brothers, wounding Asael so badly he lost most of his right leg.

Despite experiencing this horrific ordeal, Shabo never stopped fighting, completing a grueling recovery before joining the world of professional wheelchair basketball on the international stage.

Shabo tends to a memorial garden in honor of his mother, Rachel, but the most powerful tribute to his deceased loved ones remains his passion for life and will to keep fighting in their honor.
