In 1986, a show called “Shalom Sesame” aired in the United States. Based on “Sesame Street” and the Israeli version, “Rechov SumSum,” its goal was to introduce children to Israel and Judaism.
“Everyone’s feel-good actress,” Mary Tyler Moore, best known for her roles in “The Dick Van Dyke Show” and “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” appeared on the series in 1987.
Mary Tyler Moore died in January 2017.
