Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed terror organization based in Lebanon and leader Hassan Nasrallah, has the same goals as Hamas, the eradication of Jews and Israel. Their arsenal contains a vast 200,000 rockets, including long-range precision-guided missiles.
Their forces amount to nearly 100,000, double the fighters Hamas has. Hezbollah’s constant violation of UN resolution 1701 puts Israel and its northern communities at high risk.
Their blatant disregard for civilian casualties and laws of war, force Israel to protect its citizens no matter what. The IDF bolstered its fighting force on the northern border in case Hezbollah attempts to escalate the conflict.
