“The leaders of Europe need to understand that we will not go silently. We are not lambs to the slaughter. We are strong. We’ve got an amazing country here in Israel,” stated Amanda Rosenthal upon making Aliyah from the UK.

Prominent British-Jewish lawyer Mark Lewis and his partner, businesswoman Amanda Blumenthal, made Aliyah (immigration to Israel) due to the rise of anti-Semitism in the U.K. and in Europe in general.

The couple, who landed at Ben Gurion Airport on Wednesday, no longer feels safe in their home country, largely blaming Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn for allowing anti-Semites to come out of the woodwork.

Lewis, who came into the public eye for representing phone-hacking victims of British tabloid News of the World, has claimed he was subjected to hate speech and threats for being Jewish.

“It’s time for all Jews to leave Europe,” he stated at the airport, saying that people should learn from history. “Why didn’t people leave in the 1930s? The signs were there.”

Furthermore, “the Jewish leaders in Europe have to start leading by example. They need to get out.”

Blumenthal, whose relatives greeted the couple at the airport, had a message of Jewish pride for “the leaders of Europe who need to understand that we will not go silently. We are not lambs to the slaughter. We are strong. We’ve got an amazing country here in Israel, and you know something, their rhetoric will not be the final word for us.”
