“Israel stands with the resilient Londoners, who have again become a target of brutal terrorism,” Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel Yuval Rotem stated Saturday night after an attack in the heart of the city in which a Muslim terrorist stabbed and murdered two people.

“Our condolences to the friends and families of the victims, wishes for a quick recovery to those injured,” he added.

Jihadi Usman Khan, 28, stabbed and killed a man and a woman and injured three others during a stabbing spree on the London Bridge on Friday. He was stopped and overpowered by citizens and then was shot dead by police.

Khan had been released on “extensive licence conditions” in 2018 after serving time for plotting to carry out a series of bombing attacks in London and after being released early from prison.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that automatic early release from jail was not working and that canceling early release would have prevented the attack.

The Islamic State (ISIS) terror organization claimed responsibility for the attack.
