En 1991, l’Éthiopie était au bord du chaos. Dans le cadre des efforts de Tsahal pour amener les Juifs éthiopiens en Israël, trois opérations top secrètes ont été menées en secret. La plus grande opération, l’opération Salomon, a ramené 14 325 Juifs éthiopiens chez eux en Israël à bord 34 avions et en seulement 36 heures. Cette opération a concerné la famille d’Ortal Ayaso en Israël. Bien qu’initialement placée dans une unité différente, Ortal était déterminée à servir sur la même flotte d’avions qui avait ramené sa famille à la maison. Après avoir fait la demande plusieurs fois, Ortal est aujourd’hui technicienne dans l’armée de l’air israélienne et travaille exactement sur le même avion qui a sauvé sa famille.
