After he murdered a man last week and seriously wounded another in a car attack and then denied it was intentional, Israeli-Arab Khaled Kutina finally admitted that he wanted to kill Jews.

After a prolonged and intense investigation, the Arab terrorist who murdered an Israeli and critically wounded another by ramming his car into them last Wednesday night in Jerusalem confessed that he wanted to kill Jews. He initially claimed that the incident was a car accident.

The terrorist, Khaled Kutina, 37, who lives in the Jerusalem district, was arrested for running over and killing Shalom Yohai Cherki, 25, and seriously injuring Shira Klein, 20.

“As part of a joint investigation conducted by the Jerusalem police and the Shin Bet (Israel’s Security Agency), Kutina confessed to carrying out the vehicular terrorist attack last Wednesday, on the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day,” the Shin Bet announced in a statement on Tuesday.

“In his questioning, Kutina confessed to carrying out the attack with the intent of murdering Jews, a decision he made a short while before he carried out the attack,” the statement read.

Kutina was driving along Route 1 in Jerusalem, hunting for Jewish pedestrians to attack. Eventually, he came upon the two victims whom he identified as Jews by their clothing.

During his first days in custody Kutina tried to present himself as suffering from mental illness and even “played crazy” during a psychiatric evaluation.

Kutina’s eventual confession indicates that he meticulously planned the attack, pointing to a premeditated, nationalistically motivated terror attack rather than a momentary impulse, the statement emphasized.

Klein remains hospitalized in critical, yet stable, condition, a hospital spokesperson said on Wednesday morning.
