Rockets launched by Hamas Thursday morning from a humanitarian zone in Khan Yunis toward Israel ended up hitting a nearby UNWRA school, the IDF said.
According to the IDF, two were reportedly killed and multiple others injured as a result of the failed launches.
The IDF added that Israel’s “Coordinator for Government Activity in the Territories” (COGAT) and the World Health Organization coordinated the evacuation of the injured civilians to the International Medical Corps field hospital in central Gaza’s Dier al Balah.
“Need more proof that Hamas prioritizes killing Israelis over caring for Gazans?” The IDF asked rhetorically in a Twitter post.
On Tuesday, the IDF reported that a Hamas rocket had hit a school in the Nuseirat area after Hamas unsuccessfully tried launching several rockets at Israel.
“Hamas’ rocket fire continues to endanger both Israeli and Gazan civilians alike,” the IDF said.
