The Prime Minister’s Office said the postponement of Graham’s funeral has delayed the trip.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has canceled plans to travel to Washington next week after the funeral for the late Sen. Lindsey Graham was postponed until later this month, the Prime Minister’s Office announced Wednesday.
The trip had been expected to include a White House meeting with President Donald Trump, with Israeli media reporting that the two leaders were tentatively scheduled to meet early next week. Netanyahu had also planned to attend Graham’s funeral, prompting reports that he would depart Israel on Saturday night.
The Prime Minister’s Office said the postponement of the funeral has delayed the trip.
The expected meeting came at a time of mounting regional tensions, with the United States and Iran exchanging military strikes for days, escalating confrontations around the Strait of Hormuz, and growing concerns over the possibility of a broader regional conflict. The talks were expected to focus on the rapidly evolving security situation and close coordination between Jerusalem and Washington.
In recent weeks, Trump and Netanyahu have held several phone calls, after which the Prime Minister’s Office said the two leaders had agreed to meet soon in the United States.
The discussions were also expected to address Israel’s security posture in southern Lebanon and Syria, as the Trump administration continues diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions along Israel’s northern borders while Israel insists on maintaining security buffer zones.
Neither the Prime Minister’s Office nor the White House indicated when the Washington visit and the meeting with Trump will now take place.
