Opinion: Why We Cannot Trust Iran

The Islamic Republic of Iran is a revolutionary, aggressive, supremacist, jihadist Islamist state, and people need to understand that. Just look at the country’s Constitution!

Very few people are aware of the role of the religion of Islam in Iran’s behavior and intentions. In fact, they do not even seem to be aware that the name of the country is not “Iran.” The official name is “The Islamic Republic of Iran” and if people understood the significance of that, they would understand immediately that the Ayatollahs will never give up their quest for nuclear weapons. An “Islamic Republic” is not a nation state like other republics, and the Islamic Republic of Iran should not be treated like other nation states. An Islamic Republic dedicates the entire power of a sovereign state to the propagation of Islam throughout the world. The Islamic Republic of Iran is a revolutionary, aggressive, supremacist, jihadist Islamist state; and people need to understand that. Let us go right to the horse’s mouth by looking at a relevant excerpt from the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Anyone can Google the text, which can be found here. Here is just one result of the Google search:

An Ideological Army

In the formation and equipping of the country’s defense forces, due attention must be paid to faith and ideology as the basic criteria. Accordingly, the army of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps are to be organized in conformity with this goal, and they will be responsible not only for guarding and preserving the frontiers of the country but also for fulfilling the ideological mission of jihad in God’s way; that is, extending the sovereignty of God’s law throughout the world (this is in accordance with the Koranic verse “Prepare against them whatever force you are able to muster, and strings of horses, striking fear into the enemy of God and your enemy, and others besides them.” [8.60])

With their constitution, in addition to their murderous, terrorist and virulently anti-Semitic acts for the last 36 years, the Ayatollahs are telling us two important things:

1) The Islamic Republic will use its armed forces, not just for defense, but to impose Islamic law on the rest of the world;
2) Their god in the Koran requires them to acquire all possible weapons (“whatever force you are able to muster”).

The command to obtain all possible weapons includes nuclear weapons. Therefore, to expect the Ayatollahs to agree NOT to acquire nuclear weapons is to expect them to violate their own Constitution and the sacred commands of their god, Allah.

After all, the Islamic Republic of Iran is an Islamic theocracy which is based on the Koran which Moslems consider to be the literal word of their god — NOT the inspired word, but the literal word, and valid for all of eternity. This means that, if the commands in the Koran are clear, — and there are many clear commands from Allah for Muslims to make war on non-Moslems — there can be no interpretation which contradicts the literal meaning.

To recall Winston Churchill in 1938 after Neville Chamberlain came back from a meeting with “Herr Hitler” and waved a paper agreement which he and Hitler had signed, President Obama and Secretary of State Kerry were presented with a choice between war and dishonor. By signing the recent agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran, they chose dishonor; and they will get war.

Sign the Petition to Stop a Nuclear Iran

The US Congress must ensure that sanctions against Iran remain in force until the nuclear threat is completely eliminated.

I strongly oppose easing sanctions before the nuclear threat from Iran has been eliminated. Allowing Iran to enrich uranium without being subject to 'anytime, anywhere' inspections is extremely dangerous and unacceptable. Iran's nuclear program must be stopped.
