Seventeen years after a suicide terror attack left 15 Israelis dead, family members of the bomb-builder, the suicide bomber, and a third terrorist involved in the plot have stuffed their pockets with payments from the Palestinian Authority (PA) exceeding 1 million shekels ($294,332), according to a recent report by Palestinian Media Watch (PMW).

The Palestinian terrorists carried out the bombing August 9, 2001 at the Sbarro pizza shop in downtown Jerusalem, where the suicide bomber, Izz al-Din Al-Masri, detonated his vest, slaying 15 innocent people. Among the victims were 7 children, an American citizen and a Brazilian citizen.

In addition to the casualties, another 130 people were injured.

The terrorist who planned the attack and transport the bomber to the site was none other than Ahlam Tamimi, a relative of infamous IDF soldier-slapper Ahed Tamimi, who recently served time for assaulting an Israeli soldier.

While Ahlam Tamimi received 16 life sentences for her crime, she was released in 2011 in an exchange through which Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit was freed from captivity in Gaza at the hands of the Hamas terror group.

The PA has doled out to Tamimi terror salary payments of over $50,000, according to PMW.

Bomb-builder Abdallah Barghouti, who assembled the suicide belt used in the Sbarro attack, received 67 life sentences, and has raked in payments from the PA of at least $191,526.

Cumulatively, as of September 2018, the PA will have paid out to Barghouti, Tamimi, and Al-Masri’s family a minimum of $294,332.

These payments comply with PA law, which entitles every terrorist imprisoned by Israel to a monthly salary for the full duration of incarceration, and in many cases after release.

PA law also requires monthly allowances to family members of terrorists killed while committing their crimes.
