A bomb exploded near Israel’s northern wounded 2 IDF soldiers. Hezbollah claimed responsibility and threatened Israel with more attacks.

Two IDF soldiers were injured Tuesday when an explosive device went off at Har Dov on Israel’s northern border with Lebanon. Two Israeli soldiers were wounded in the attack.

According to an announcement by IDF Spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner, ”two soldiers were wounded when an explosive device was detonated at them on the border with Lebanon. The troops were treated on the spot.”

The IDF retaliated with artillery fire, as the injured were airlifted to Rambam Health Care Center in Haifa for further treatment. Lebanese sources report that two Lebanese were wounded by the IDF fire.

Hezbollah Claims Responsibility and Issues Threats

The Hezbollah terrorist organization based in Lebanon claimed responsibility for the attack.

Hezbollah’s deputy leader Naim Qassem proudly declared that they are prepared to fight Israel. Qassem said the attack showed Hezbollah’s willingness and capability to “respond to Israeli violations”.

“The Shebaa Farms are occupied and it is the right of the resistance to conduct operations to liberate the land,” Qassem claimed. He added that Hezbollah “wanted to tell Israelis that we are ready and that there is no way they can assault us while we stand by and watch.”

Rising Tensions

Tensions on the northern border have sharply risen in past months, as the Syrian civil war spills over into Israel. Only two days ago, the IDF fired at a terrorist cell spotted crossing the border line.
