A flicker of hope came on Saturday when Hamas released proof of life of IDF soldier Liri Albag.

Albag’s family has requested the media to keep the video’s contents private, but some local Hebrew media reports that the 19-year-old speaks for three-and-a-half minutes and states that she has been in captivity for over 450 days.

Albag was serving as a lookout at the Nahal Oz military base when Hamas terrorists stormed the facility on October 7,2023. Of her fellow lookouts, fifteen were murdered and seven were taken captive.

While one soldier, Ori Megidish, was rescued 23 days later, another, Noa Marciano, was found murdered. No word yet on IDF hostages Karina Ariev, Naama Levy, Agam Berger, and Daniella Gilboa.

On behalf of the hostages’ families, The Hostages and Missing Families Forum Headquarters released a statement:

“The sign of life from Liri is harsh and undeniable proof of the urgency in bringing all the hostages home! Every day in Hamas’s hell in Gaza poses an immediate risk of death to the living hostages and endangers the ability to recover the fallen for proper burial.

“Sixteen days remain until the ultimatum set by President-elect Trump. We must not lose this historic window of opportunity! It is time for our Prime Minister and other world leaders to take courageous action and bring Liri and all the hostages home.

“The hostages’ families call on the public to join tonight’s rallies and protest vigils around the world and to cry out with them for their loved ones, trapped in the tunnels.”

Last May, body camera footage caught Hamas terrorists violently handcuffing and dragging the five female lookouts from their base on October 7.

The hostages’ families agreed to releasing a censored version of the video, which also shows the terrorists leading their daughters to a waiting vehicle as gunshots rang out in the background.
