“For advocating peace, I’m called a traitor,” former Miss Iraq told the UN. Negotiating peace isn’t betraying the Arab cause, she says.

After Syria, Pakistan, Qatar and the PLO accused Israel of “grave violations of human rights,” Sarah Idan – former Miss Iraq, who was recently named a UN Watch Ambassador for Peace – spoke her mind at the UN.

Representing Iraq two years ago at Miss Universe, Idan posted a photo with Miss Israel on social media, for which she received death threats and can no longer return to her country.

Watch as she blasts the Iraqi government for not condemning the threats to her life or allowing freedom of speech, instead promoting hate and intolerance supported by a biased media.
