As part of the Jewish State’s annual tribute to victims of the Holocaust, Israelis come to a standstill wherever they are when the memorial siren sounds.

Holocaust Remembrance Day remains a solemn reminder of the lives lost during Nazi Germany’s attempt to exterminate the Jewish people during World War II.

Each year, Israelis observe two minutes of silence as a memorial siren sounds throughout the nation, with drivers pulling over and standing by their car and workers stepping out of their officers to remember the six million Jews who perished.

Witnessing an entire nation come to a standstill is an awe-inspiring sight, and a powerful reminder that we must remain vigilant against the dangers anti-Semitism continues to pose 70 years later.
