While many news outlets are displaying the cover of the latest Charlie Hebdo issue, Sky News refuses to show it, fearing a backlash from Muslim viewers.
Charlie Hebdo has released its first issue since the attacks that killed 10 journalists and 10 police officers. The cover features Mohammed holding a sign with the phrase “Je Suis Charlie” beside the words “All is Forgiven.” As we reported, 5 million copies have been sold worldwide. A number of networks and publications such as Sky News feel fear repercussions from their Muslim viewers.
You can see here what happened when former Charlie Hebdo contributor Caroline Fourest held up the new cover on Sky News.
