40,000 Israelis arrived in the Negev region to get a spectacular view of the Perseid meteor shower.

Thousands of visitors traveled to the Ramon Crater in southern Israel to enjoy the annual Perseid meteor shower, which reached its peak on Wednesday night.

The spectacular show occurs every year in August, when the Earth moves through the trail of material left behind by the comet Swift-Tuttle.

Israelis came from all over the country for this unique opportunity.
