The Torah portion of “Vayigash” (Genesis 44:18–47:27) teaches us how Judah pleads to Joseph for mercy on behalf of his captive brother Benjamin and his aging father Jacob.

Joseph then reveals himself to his brothers which lead to Jacob and his entire family moving down to Egypt, the first of several exiles that lasted hundreds and thousands of years.

How do the Jewish people continuously survive in exile? What is the secret of their success?

Join Rabbi Enkin to learn about the foundations of a Jewish community and Jewish family. Discover what keeps the Jewish people together to survive in a non-Jewish world.

This class takes a look at community institutions, leadership roles, customs, family economics and much more!
