Palestinian terrorists fired at Israelis near Givat Asaf, north of Jerusalem, killing two and seriously wounding two others.

Palestinian terrorists on Thursday morning carried out a drive-by shooting attack, hitting four Israelis at the entrance to Givat Asaf in the Binyamin region, just north of Jerusalem, before fleeing.
Large security forces and emergency medical personnel rushed to the scene. While fighting to save the lives of the victims, two succumbed to their wounds.
The other two victims, a man and a woman in their early 20s, were rushed to Jerusalem hospitals in serious condition.
The IDF launched a mass manhunt for the terror cell.
Givat Asaf (Hebrew for ‘Asaf’s Hill’) was named in memory of Asaf Hershkowitz, who was murdered by Palestinian terrorists at the same spot in 2001.
Israel has been experiencing a significant increase in Palestinian terror attacks. Earlier on Thursday, two Border Policemen were wounded in a stabbing attack in Jerusalem’s Old City.
On Wednesday night, Israeli Special Forces tracked down and killed two Palestinian terrorists who were involved in two recent deadly shooting attacks. In one incident, Israeli forces killed a Palestinian terrorist wanted for Sunday’s drive-by shooting at a bus stop at the entrance to Ofra, in which seven Israelis were wounded. He was eliminated just hours after the death of the Israeli baby delivered prematurely as a result of the attack.
In total, 10 Israelis have been killed in Palestinian terror attacks in recent months, a high death toll in comparison to recent years.
The Shin Bet (Israel’s Security Agency) has prevented more than 1,000 terror attacks in the past year, according to a report by director Nadav Argaman to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee in November.
“In Judea and Samaria, the reality is very complex,” he noted. “We can discern a relative calm, but this quiet is deceptive. Underneath the surface, the area is bubbling” in the region.
