The rights to the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest, held in Tel Aviv in May, have been bought by Netflix for the U.S. audience, the Eurovision site announced last week.

On July 22, Netflix will air in the U.S. the 2019 Eurovision contest that was held in Tel Aviv. Available to viewers are over eight hours of entertainment that covers the first and second Semi-Finals broadcast and Grand Final from the competition.

Eurovision is the world’s biggest, non-sporting live TV event and the most watched live entertainment show in Europe. At least 50 countries are eligible to compete by performing an original song.

Two-hundred-million people, from all over the world, watch the broadcast and cast votes to determine the winner. The country that wins hosts the next year’s competition.

Netflix is an American company that provides subscription service for streaming movies and television episodes over the Internet.

Netflix will also provide on-demand viewing in the U.S. of the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest, to be held in the Netherlands. The country won the 2019 contest with the song “Arcade,” performed by Duncan Laurence.

“The European Broadcasting Union is thrilled that the world’s biggest entertainment show will now be available on-demand for viewers in the USA, one of the biggest TV markets,” said Eurovision Song Contest Executive Supervisor Jon Ola Sand. “U.S viewers will now get to enjoy all three of this year’s fantastic shows for the first time as well as the entire Contest in 2020. This is perfect timing with plans to launch a U.S. version of the Contest in 2021.”
