Six Palestinian Arab terrorists were killed during clashes with Israeli security personnel in Samaria early Wednesday morning.
The six terrorists were eliminated as they threw improvised explosive devices at IDF soldiers operating in the Nur Shams refugee camp in the Palestinian Authority-administered city of Tulkarem in western Samaria during a pre-dawn raid Wednesday.
An Israeli drone provided close air support to the Israeli troops and opened fire on the terrorists.
Palestinian Authority health officials say six were killed in the strike, with four more wounded, including three listed in serious condition.
The raid comes following complaints by residents of nearby Israeli towns – including Bat Hefer – of tunneling sounds from the direction of Tulkarem and the neighboring Arab town of Shuweika.
Local authorities said they were investigating the noise, amid fears of possible October 7th-style cross-border attacks by terrorists utilizing tunnels.
“We take the reports very seriously and are working overtime to check the issue in a comprehensive and professional manner, using various methods,” the Hefer Valley Regional Council said.
“So far, three checks have been carried out in relation to the tunneling, and two more checks will be carried out in the coming days. So far, no findings have been found that indicate tunneling,” it added.
