Nine Israeli startups have made the annual Time Magazine’s 200 best inventions list.
Despite the ongoing war in Israel, The Startup Nation proves once again it can innovate under pressure.
The following are startups and their respective inventions that made Time’s list.
InnerPlant Cropvoice
We may have heard that talking to plants is good for them, but what if plants could communicate with us?
InnerPlant Cropvoice plants a gene in cotton, soy, or corn seeds, which enables the grown plant to release a special protein that “communicates” through a fluorescent signal.
Now, plants can tell us when they need more water or nutrients, are suffering from a disease, or are being attacked by insects.
BeeHero
Bee populations are facing increasing threats from global climate change and other factors. Without a solution to improve hive conditions, the effect on crop cultivation can be devastating.
Beehero’s technology monitors hives, analyzes bee activity, and detects threats.
OrCam, founded by Mobileye founder Prof. Amnon Shashua, is following up on its success in developing glasses for the visually impaired.
Now, OrCam has developed Hear Earphones for those with auditory impairments. The earphones use AI and an app to detect and interpret sounds.
UVeye
Ohad and Amir Hever developed this technology after observing security guards using mirrors to perform manual inspections. They adapted their idea and developed it for commercial use and troubleshooting vehicle problems.
Laguna Insight
This technology facilitates communication between healthcare providers and patients, especially after they have been discharged.
Laguna Insight advises caregivers on how to apply solutions that will benefit their patients and aid their recovery.
Aporia Guardrails
Companies often adopt AI to eliminate human error. However, AI can create “chatbot hallucinations” and other nonsense, wasting Time and money.
Aporia Guardrails prevents AI chatbots from going off the rails or exploitation by those who want them to reveal too much information.
D-ID Agents
Although AI has made many advances, few solutions can recreate the experience of talking to an actual human.
D-ID Agents are remarkably lifelike thanks to generative AI, the generation of 3D likenesses from photos, and speech recognition.
BelongAI Dave
Cancer patients should not suffer in silence, particularly when they can’t reach their doctor. BelongAI Dave has been trained using eight years of patient data and can provide information and support.
Nanox.AI
This technology can diagnose chronic conditions before symptoms are noticed with CT scans. The FDA-approved solution can detect problems in the bone, liver, and heart.
