In the wake of the October 7 massacre, we have witnessed a disturbing surge in antisemitic incidents, ranging from graffiti on Jewish businesses to alarming calls for the genocide of Jews on college campuses.

These incidents underscore the urgent need to address this escalating wave of antisemitism and take action.

Recently, a distressing example unfolded when one of an Israeli client attempted to make a purchase on Etsy, only to face discrimination from a French seller who refused the transaction based on the buyer’s national origin, citing solidarity with the Palestinian people.

This is a violation of Etsy’s code of conduct, as they prohibit the refusal to sell items based on attributes such as “national origin”.

Help us fight this blunt violation and send a pre-written email to Etsy’s leadership, demanding they take action now.

Subject: Remove Discriminatory Sellers from your Platform!

Hello Sir/Madam,

I’m writing to express my concern regarding a recent incident that happened on your platform, where a seller refused to negotiate with a potential customer based on their national origin.

On December 28th, a customer on your website was interested in purchasing household items from a seller going by the name of “FrenchVintageRetro”. However, upon learning that the customer is based in Israel, the seller refused to sell the items “in support of the Palestinian people”. I have the screenshot of this incident, if needed.

According to your code of conduct, you prohibit the use of your services to discriminate against people based on various attributes, including national origin. The seller, “FrenchVintageRetro”, violated your platform’s code of conduct by refusing to sell products to the customer based on their nationality.

Therefore, I ask you to do the right thing and take the appropriate measures necessary against the seller, as I believe discrimination of any kind should not be tolerated on your platform.

Looking forward to your response.

Sincerely,

Your Name
