Legendary rock band Aerosmith will hold a concert in Tel Aviv’s HaYarkon Park in May next year as part of its Farewell tour around Europe, the Israeli company producing the event announced Monday.

The upcoming Aerosmith gig in Israel will kick off the band’s 2017 Europe tour titled Aero-Vederci Baby!

This is Aerosmith’s second visit to the Jewish State, after last performing in Tel Aviv in 1994.

Aerosmith is one of the most famous and successful American rock bands. Their style, which is rooted in blues-based hard rock, has come to also incorporate elements of rap, heavy metal, and rhythm and blues, and has inspired many subsequent rock artists. They were formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1970, and have since produced numerous hits.

The band’s musicians are members of Creative Community for Peace, an anti-boycott organization made up of music executives and music representatives of bands including Celine Dion, Lady Gaga, and Justin Timberlake.

Aerosmith is the latest front-line band to announce it will perform in Israel.

The Chemical Brothers held a fabulous concert in Israel last week, despite pressure by anti-Israel activist Roger waters to cancel their concert in Israel.

Aerosmith join a long list of prestigious performers who have performed in Israel in 2016, including Elton John, Deep Purple, Sia, the Chemical Brothers, Julio Iglesias, Megadeth and the Scorpions.
