An Arab terrorist stabbed two Israelis in Jerusalem’s Old City on Saturday night. It was the latest in a series of attacks against Jews plaguing the capital and the surrounding area.

An Arab terrorist stabbed and wounded two Israeli teens on their way to pray at the Kotel (Western Wall) on Saturday night during the Festival of Shavuot.

According to the police report, the terrorist attacked them from behind in one of the Old City’s alleys and then fled the scene. Using the security camera network, the police were able to track the terrorist to his home, where he was arrested while still wearing his bloody clothing. They also found the knife used in the attack.

The victims, in their late teens, were taken to a Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital in Jerusalem in stable condition. Their wounds were categorized as moderate.

Arab Terror in Jerusalem Persists

The capital has been plagued with continuous attacks perpetrated by Arab terrorists against civilians.

Last Wednesday an Arab terrorist ran his car into a group of Israeli policemen on patrol on the Mount of Olives, moderately wounding one policewoman and lightly injuring a policeman. Police shot and killed the terrorist.

A week before, an Arab terrorist ran his car into a group of four Israelis standing at a junction near the community of Alon Shvut in Gush Etzion, just south of Jerusalem. One man was critically wounded, another moderately, and two others lightly. The terrorist fled the scene but was captured soon after and taken in for questioning, during which he confessed that he had tried to kill the Israelis.

Most of these attacks are executed by so-called “lone wolves,” terrorists unaffiliated with terror organizations or networks. They operate on their own initiative, which makes tracking by security forces extremely challenging.

Speaking after a recent attack, Minister of Internal Security Yitzchak Aharonovich said that in his estimation, the Palestinian terror in Jerusalem will persist. “The terror attacks in Jerusalem will continue,” he warned, “A single terrorist who decides to act on his own cannot be stopped.”
